S.S. Librarianship

a podcast for librarians and the nerds who love them

Hi! We're Alli Sullivan & Sam Mills. We met in a pub the night before our first day of library school, and since then we've been through a lot together - classes, presentations, jobs, weddings, Dungeons & Dragons campaigns - all the while finding ourselves engrossed in wide-ranging conversations about television, film, books, technology, and what it means to be a young, nerdy, lady librarian in the twenty-first century. This podcast is our attempt to share our conversation with you - we hope you enjoy listening, and we hope you'll jump in and join us by sending in a question, comment, or topic for us to discuss on the show!

Episode Sixteen - "...I'm a little sick of people getting stabbed in the chest and living."

This week, with special guest Theo Mills...

We might be miles apart, but we're back!

Mind Grapes: Sam kicks of the holidays with Frozen and Love Actually; Alli was floored by American Hustle and is enjoying the new Zelda; Theo's been playing the new Splinter Cell and enjoying Almost Human.

Where Do We Put This?: We have a wide-ranging conversation with Theo about video games - in addition to his studies toward becoming a game designer, we also touch on the emergence of the "sandbox" standard, the economics of the industry, and the way players interact with each other.
